Rules Empty
PostSubject: Rules   Rules EmptyThu Aug 18, 2011 9:31 pm

Luna here, just a quick word.
You will follow these rules. Not a request, a demand. No matter how old you are or how well I know you, these WILL be followed. No exceptions.
Oh, also, the quotations in bold that serve as several rules? Not mine. There will be a list of who they're by at the bottom of the post.

Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Under no circumstances are you to flame, bully, or be a jerk on this board. It's unacceptable. If you don't like a story, or poem, or whatever, that's fine. Criticize. But word it nicely. Don't say "I hate your story, loser" because that's bullying, and we don't like bullies. No name calling or dissing. For if you do, eventually you will be caught, as we're always watching. Always. If you see someone doing this, report them. Also, this mostly applies to public roleplays, if something you're doing in the roleplay is making someone uncomfortable and they ask you to stop, and you don't? They have full permission to report you, and you can bet you'll get in trouble for it.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under his tongue is mischief and vanity. You're allowed to cuss here. I'm going to be nice, and I won't put a censor in place, but don't swear like, every other word, okay? Two or three times a post is even a little too much. In stories and roleplays and stuff it's understandable and acceptable, but anywhere else, please try to avoid it. Though it's not like I'm going to yell at you for saying fuck or damn once or twice.

Do not be surprised when those who ignore the rules of grammar also ignore the law. After all, the law is just so much grammar. You must, I repeat MUST, use decent grammar and spelling here. This is a writing site, and school comes into play. Not a good speller? Find a spell-check program. When it comes to grammar, you can bet that any errors you make will probably be pointed out. Chatspeak, as well, isn't accepted. The occasional lol or brb is fine, but don't tlk lik dis al th tim.

Maturity. I'm not going to put many limits on how mature, sex-wise and gore-wise, you can be in your stories. But you must, I repeat MUST have a rating in the topic description for your stories. You can find the guide to rating your stories here: http://www.fictionratings.com/ Because not only do some people just not wanna read about that, but if their parents see them reading it, they could be forbidden to ever get on the site again. And it would be all your fault for forgetting the rating. So remember it, 'kay?
I will allow explicit sex, pregnancies, kissing, dating, marriage, hugs, hand-holding, nudity, etc. etc. I'll also be lenient and allow explicitness with like, killing, blood, gore, having children, etc. But once again, DO NOT FORGET THE RATING. If you don't put rating in the topic description, or under-rate it, and someone reads through it and finds something more mature than the rating? You will be reported, given a warning, and in drastic measures, have your story deleted. This also applies to roleplays.

There is much difference between imitating a man and counterfeiting him. Stealing is NOT okay. You may not, under any circumstances, steal from anyone else on this site, a published author, an UNpublished author, someone on another site, etc. If we find out you've stolen something, action will be taken. If you continue to steal things? Well, let's just say you'll regret it.

Spam. No spamming. Or in other words, no doing super long lines of one character/word, or having tons and tons of exclamation points, or repeatedly saying the same thing, or anything like that. There's a filter on the entire board to prevent you from double posting within 12 hours of your last post, so don't even bother trying.

Usernames. You can change your username once every five months, unless in case of a typo when creating it. To have your username changed, please private message me or another mod/admin, and we'll take care of it for you. Also on usernames, they cannot include first or last names, info about where you live, or be part of your e-mail address.

Personal Information. State is pretty much all I'm allowing. If it's a close friend you know in real life and you want to give them your phone number or something, alright, fine, private message them. But DON'T POST WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE! If you get cyberstalked because you foolishly gave out all your personal info, don't come crying to me. The 'not allowed personal info' doesn't include hair color, eye color, height, etc. That's fine.

Giving. Don't give your account to another member under any circumstances. If you want to quit the site, private message me or another admin. Do NOT give someone else your account.

Colors, colors, colors. You may not use this color, this color or this color(blue, violet or red) in your posts at any point, as these three colors are for mods(blue), editors(violet) admins(red) only, to be used when posting as an admin/mod/editor(i.e. alerting of changes to thread, warnings, etc.). Other shades of blue, red and purple and perfectly fine, just not those three.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce... You must, repeat MUST post an introduction thread before you do ANYTHING else. Not kidding. You should probably even do this before you get an avatar or anything.

Impersonation. Under NO circumstances are you allowed to impersonate ANYONE, especially in the chatbox. Staff, other members, celebrities; I don't care who you're impersonating, don't do it. For any reason.

Chatbox stuff. Don't change your name constantly. I don't care if you wanna mess with someone, just don't do it. Also, all rules above DO apply in the chatbox; keep that in mind.

Thanks,
~Luna
